Actor Gerald Butler lands in the hospital after attempting to use bee venom to treat his sore muscles

The Scottish-born actor recently revealed that he was hospitalized after willingly getting an injection of bee venom in a quest to ease his sore muscles following a day of filming stunts for his new movie, Geostorm.
“I had heard of this guy injecting bee venom, because apparently it has many anti-inflammatory compounds,” Butler said on an ITV talkshow. “So, I’m like: ‘Come, come to New Orleans where we’re filming.’ So, he gives me a shot, and I go: ‘Oh, that’s interesting’—because it stings.”
Butler explained that the practitioner then went on to inject him 10 more times, at which point he had a predictably bad reaction.
“I kind of enter this anaphylactic shock,” Butler said. “It’s awful, creepy crawlies all over me, swelled up, heart’s going to explode. But I go through it, and then I find out he gave me 10 times too much.”
He said that following the procedure, he was immediately transported to the hospital and treated. But then somehow, even with the hospital stay, Butler said that just four days later, he gave the muscle recovery remedy one more try.
“I decide to do it again because, I think: ‘Maybe I just took too much.’ So, he’s on the phone, and this time I have to go to the hospital [again].” He added, “The guys at the hospital are like, ‘What is it this time?’ But I made it through, [although] now I have to worry anytime a bee is around!”

Man takes his life because his parents refused to allow him marry his baby mama

Days after revealing that his parents won’t allow him to marry the lady he loves, who has a child for him, a Ghanaian man identified as Kofi Shanti Boafo, has reportedly committed suicide.

Before taking his own life, he wrote a ‘goodbye’ post:

“Dear All, You have to know that you will not be seeing me any more, and perhaps the knowledge is better than the months of uncertainty which I have been through.

There are one or two things which I should like you to know, and which I have been too shy to let you know in person.

Firstly, let me say how splendid you both have been during this terrible “war”. Neither of you have shown how hard things must have been, and when peace comes this will serve to knit the family together as it should always have been knit.

As a family, we are terribly afraid of showing our feelings, but my life has uncovered unsuspected layers of affection beneath the crust of gentlemanly reserve.

Secondly, I would like to thank you all for what you have done for me personally. Nothing has been too much trouble, and I have appreciated this to the full, even if I have been unable to show it.
Finally, a word of comfort. You both know how I have gone through this life, but it has, however, done this for me. It has shown me new realms where man is free from earthly restrictions and conventions; where he can be himself playing hide and seek with the clouds, or watching a strangely silent world beneath, rolling quietly on, touched only by vague unsubstantial shadows moving placidly but unrelenting across its surface.

So please don’t pity me for the price I have had to pay for this experience. This price is incalculable, but it may just as well be incalculably small as incalculably large, so why worry?

And to Dad and Mum
If you get this message or reading this, then you should know I won’t be coming home. I am up in the stars now looking down on you making sure that you are happy as you wanted.

I am sorry for all the times I have been a pain but I know the good times outweighed the bad tenfold. Thank you for being the best parents anyone could ever have wished for. You gave me everything I could ever have wanted and more but not the marriage that I wanted.

You have both gotten long lives ahead of you yet, so make sure you make use of every second you have, because sitting here writing this now I know just how precious time is.

Tell the rest of the family I was thinking of them and make sure they take care.

Forgiveness is something everybody deserves because one day, it may be too late.

Remember that every time you are thinking of me, I am thinking of you, too. Look after yourselves and not to think of my children forget about them.

And to the love of my life Deevi
I cannot seem to say these words out loud. To me, saying goodbye has always seemed so final. Life is crazy like that. People come in and out of your life; neither one is ever expected. I have found, however, that some people will always come back to you. The ones meant to be in your life will return somewhere down the road. Unfortunately, I do not believe you will ever return. That is why I have to say goodbye.

Our relationship, like so many others, had its extreme ups and downs. I tried to focus on the ups, while relentlessly making excuses for you for the downs. “He’s just busy” and “He treats everyone like that” became the norm. I put you before almost anything and anyone else in my life. You knew I loved you, yet you did nothing about it. All I had was hope. You were so important to me. It is extremely difficult writing these words in the past tense. I once thought you would be in my life forever.

I can’t let you hurt me any longer. Life is too short to repeatedly get your heart broken by the same person without doing anything to fix it. Everyone deserves more than that. I need to do what is best for me. The only way to fix it is by saying goodbye.

I know this is going to be a long and difficult journey, but it is something I must do. My heart is so full of you. Waking up every morning without you in my life will get a little easier every day until you are nothing but a memory to me. I’m glad we have few same friends so your name won’t get brought up in conversation. It is time to move on. I can erase you from my life, but the memories will remain forever.

I may have lost someone that didn’t love me, but you lost someone that truly loved you.

This is my goodbye.

There is only one thing to add. Good luck to you all.

Shanti writes to you all. Am much grateful and appreciate your time and effort to me.”

Proposed MKO Abiola Airport in Osun to cost N69bn to construct

The proposed M. K. O Abiola International Airport in Ido-Osun, Osun, will cost N69bn under a concession arrangement with an indigenous company, AWOL International.

The Director of Public Building in Osun State Ministry of Works, Mr Niyi Ogundiran, gave the figure at a meeting with members of the state Assembly in Osogbo on Thursday.

Ogundiran said that the concession arrangement would last for 30 years before the permanent transfer of ownership to the state government.

He said that the contract was first awarded on Oct. 14, 2012, at the cost of N 4.5bn, noting that the project was to be completed within eight months by the government and not under a concession arrangement.

Ogundiran said that the contract was later reviewed to gulp N11bn to be able to accommodate more features.

He said the state government had spent N3.6bn on the project before the concession arrangement, adding that the N3.6bn would be deducted from the N69bn contract sum.

The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Nurudeen Adeagbo, said that the concession arrangement would be to the advantage of the state.

He expressed the hope that the company would deliver a perfect job.

In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Adegboye Akintunde, urged all those in charge of the project to ensure its success.

Akintunde said that Osun people were watching with keen interest to know the outcome of the arrangement.

Peter Okoye finally breaks his silence pertaining the 4 year feud in his family

Speaking with Vibe Magazine, Peter said “30 children cannot continue to play together for 30 years. Being apart is the best solution at the moment.”

The singer, who has since gone solo disclosed that their family feud has lingered for four years.

He said he has no problems with his other brothers and their wives and doesn’t know what exactly is wrong.

“Some individuals decided to separate 2 individuals by saying this person is better than this person but my motto is, if you steal from Peter to pay Paul, you’re paying P-Square. “Oh I hate this Peter.”

“Well if you see 2 of us on stage, with Peter on one side and Paul on the other side, you will watch the show like this. (He covers one side of his face with his phone). The reason why I started responding to social media is because there was something that came out one time.

“I was advised “Peter do not say anything” but it’s affecting me today. When my brother put out that he sings and writes all the songs. I never responded but right now, there are 50% of our fans and some groups that believe Peter doesn’t sing. All because I wanted peace. But now if you say anything about me, I will respond.

“I don’t respond harshly if you’ve noticed. I’m not like last year. I decided to calm down because my family is more important here. I cannot trade my family. If you do not like it, don’t be my fan. If you do not like the fact that I am standing for my family, then you should not be my fan and I am serious about it.

“My brother is my twin, fine, but you keep telling me blood is thicker than water. Obviously you think “Paul is my blood and my family is the water? You guys better be out of your minds. Being apart is the best solution at the moment. It’s not pride. It’s not ego. It’s respect. We’ve lost it.”

“Last year, nobody knew what was happening. ‘When are you guys releasing a song?’ They did not know we were fighting but we’d still go on stage and perform. All I wanted was to keep the family together but what the fans wanted was to have Psquare.

“We gave you guys Psquare even though the family had been fighting for about four years –even as of last year that we claimed we were back. I cannot even face the shame of making the fans feel that we are okay. We are not okay. It’s not healthy. I don’t have any problem with their own family.

“The wives, everybody. I am cool with them. I don’t know what’s wrong. I don’t know why it looks as if the hatred is on my family. I’ve tried to ask them what the problem is but nobody is telling me anything.”

Which kind of yeye advertisement is this sef! The things one see on social media

Makeup artist advices ladies against skin bleaching says she regrets bleaching her skin

Nigerian makeup artist, Tennycoco has advised against skin bleaching. According to her, she spent her money to bleach her skin but now she regrets it so much.

She stopped bleaching and has returned to her natural beautiful skin. Read her story after the cut..........

My Road to Melanin
At the age of 19, I started lightening my skin..... By the time I was 20, I had become a heavy Skin bleacher... at the time it felt almost normal, I felt like I looked more attractive..... it became an addiction, I just couldn't stop. I craved so much to be lighter.. I felt being black wasn't beautiful enough. What a stupid way to have thought...

I guess the society we live in played a little role in my decision to bleach my skin... coupled with being very Naive at that age. It's widely perceived that the lighter you are, the more beautiful you look. To be honest I always knew it was a bad thing... I mean, I had seen loads of people with ridiculously damaged skin courtesy the effects of bleaching but I was just so deep into it... like I said it's actually an addiction.

As my 25th birthday started approaching I started to do a lot of Soul searching, a lot of self evaluation... concerning every area of my life and I finally started to see the light... to see how crazy I had been all these years... how crazy it was for me to have believed that my black skin wasn't beautiful, to have allowed myself to feel inadequate or to try and tell God ' how you created me isn't good enough' what a silly, crazy way to have lived.

Today I'm more than grateful that I finally saw the light. Black is beautiful! So beautiful! Never have I ever felt as beautiful and as at peace with my skin tone as I do now... Please Love your skin/Yourself the way God has made you.... you are beautiful, you are enough.

Time will always tell... imagine how I would look 10-15 years from now if I had continued to bleach my skin. Please don't do it... I did it and I Had/ have so much Regret... it's not worth it. You are beautiful just as you are.

I get a lot of messages asking me, how I was able to transition my skin back... I will be sharing all the tips soon enough.

Thank you to everyone who helped me get through this...... the Amount of support I have received is enormous... Thank you.

If not for my partying lifestyle Rita Dominic would have been my wife says Jim Iyke

In a new interview with Broadway TV, he opened up on why his relationship with Rita Dominic didn’t lead to marriage;

"Rita and I met when I was just beginning to embrace fame, the comforts that came with it. The laurels and the distraction, even the destruction. And Rita is not the kind of woman that hangs around a groth. We were very deep with each other.

We still are great friends. As a matter of fact, it may surprise you that we haven’t spoken to each other in over two years. But when we meet, we are cordial, respectful. There is that deep rooted thing of a man or woman you shared something with.

I don’t think Rita at that time was looking at longevity, truthfully. Don’t forget, I was the kid with the crazy afro, ready to start a fight.

My life was around having a good time and as many conquests as possible. So, who wants that kind of guy? So this question is futuristic in a sense. Fast forward perharps 10 years from now, that question may have had dept or hold water."

He further said their relationship crashed due to his wild behaviour and bad boy antics back then;
"But then, what was there to hold on to? I mean, seriously? I was partying like a crazy person. She tried to show me another life and say listen ‘there is so much more to you'.

I promise you that Rita will not hang around with a lay about. I was uncontrollable. I think we have outgrown each other now. I would not see Rita as someone I want to get involved with because so much layers of growth and evolvement have gone on in her life and so is mine.

Singapore now has the most powerful passport in the world, beating its competition Germany

Passports

For the first time an Asian country has held the top spot.
The 2017 Global Passport Power Rank, produced by advisory firm Arton Capital, put Singapore at the top of its list.
It ranked all of the passports of the world by their "total visa-free score," where a point is given for each country that their holders can visit without a visa, with a visa on arrival, or using electronic travel authorisation.
It gave Singapore a score of 159, meaning holders of a Singaporean passport can now easily visit 159 countries, either visa-free or by gaining a visa on arrival.
According to CNN, the top ranking for Singapore is thanks to a recent decision by Paraguay to remove visa requirements for passport holders of the Asian city-state.
Until this decision, Singapore was tied with Germany at 158. Germany now holds the spot for the second most powerful passport at 158, closely followed by Sweden and South Korea at 157.
The United Kingdom got a score of 156, while the United States got 154.
This is the first time an Asian country has had the most powerful passport in the world, according to Arton Capital.
Meanwhile, the least mobile passport in the world is Afghanistan, with a score of 22, followed by Pakistan and Iraq at 26.

Drunk Policeman shoots man in Delta State because of N15,000

A farmer in Ubulu Uku community, Delta State, Ijeh Chukwuedo, is recuperating at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, after undergoing a surgery to remove bullets lodged in his stomach and thigh.

The 23-year-old was reportedly returning home from his farm on Sunday when a drunken policeman, identified simply as Sergeant Emeka, gunned him down along Ubulu-Issele-Uku Road.

It was learnt that Emeka and two other policemen had wanted to pick up Chukwuedo over N15,000 wages he collected from a man, identified as Funaya.

The cops were said to have been led to the scene by Funaya and they stood by the roadside waiting for Chukwuedo to emerge from the farm.

According to Punch, the moment Chukwuedo, who was riding a motorcycle, surfaced, Funaya alerted the cops. He was flagged down, but he reportedly attempted to evade arrest.

When it appeared that they might not catch up with him, Emeka reportedly opened fire, which hit him in the stomach and thigh.

A resident, who did not want his name in print, said Chukwuedo was rushed to a hospital while the trigger-happy policeman was arrested.

He said, “Sergeant Emeka is well known in Ubulu Uku community. He is a drunk and we learnt he was drunk that day when he shot Ijeh (Chukwuedo). Other policemen with him blamed him for shooting the young man. People wanted to mob him, but he was rescued. He has been taken into custody. Ijeh is admitted to the FMC, Asaba.”

Chukwuedo was said to be asleep when our correspondent demanded to speak with him on Tuesday.

However, the Coordinator of a human rights body, Behind Bars Intervention, Harrison Gwamnishu, told Punch on phone that Funaya had contracted Chukwuedo to work on a farmland.

He said Funaya gave the victim N15,000 for the work, which he failed to complete as agreed.

The coordinator stated that Funaya, in company with a friend, Tochukwu, confronted Chukwuedo on Saturday and asked him to refund the money.

Gwamnishu said, “They had Iwu festival in the community on Saturday. Funaya and Tochukwu went to Chukwuedo’s house to collect the money. Chukwuedo said he would not refund the money since he had already started the work Funaya gave him and promised to complete it after the festival.

“He said Tochuwku angrily asked him to pay the money and he scolded him for meddling in a matter that did not concern him. The disagreement led to a fight.

“The following day, Funaya led some policemen to arrest Chukwuedo and they waited for him to come out of his (Chukwuedo’s) farm. As he came out from the farm on his motorcycle, they asked him to stop.

“Because that road is usually quiet and for fear of being killed, he tried to escape. One of the policemen, Sergeant Emeka, shot him. He was injured in the stomach and thigh. The other policemen took him to a hospital in the community. He was referred to the FMC, Asaba, where he underwent a surgery.”

Gwamnishu said the victim’s family had spent about N50,000 on his treatment, adding that the police only sent N10,000 as medical bill.

“They have not come to check him at the FMC. The policeman that shot him should be punished accordingly. He is a drunk and is not fit to be carrying a gun,” he added.

With $36 Billion all sates in Nigeria will be connected by rail says Amaechi

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Tuesday said that the $36bn being sought by the Federal Government for rail lines construction across the country would be used to connect virtually all state capitals in Nigeria by rail.

Speaking as a guest during a radio programme monitored by our correspondent in Abuja , the minister said, “When I spoke I didn’t say the money ($36bn) was there. I was asked how much we would need to take the rail transport to various state capitals. I said that we would need about $36bn and that includes the two deep seaports that we want to construct, one in Bonny and the other in Warri.

“Don’t forget that all railway transport in Nigeria should terminate at the seaports and at the airports, if you must do a modular kind of transportation. And even if you have the $36bn, this current government cannot spend all that money to construct railways. What we are saying is that that is the projection for the construction.”

He added, “We are currently focusing on Lagos-Kano, which is about $8.3bn. We’ve got a loan from the China Exim Bank for $1.5bn to construct Lagos-Ibadan; we’ve completed the Kaduna-Abuja rail, and the three kinds of loans we are negotiating now, we hope to get them. But we are not sure if we will get them.

Mother sells her daughter for the sum of N280,000 to payoff debt

Olubunmi Funke, a single mother, on Tuesday disclosed that she sold her three years old daughter to one Abibat Oyesanya, a member of child trafficking ring to enable her offset a crippling debt burden.

Funke who said she even took to prostitution to raise money to pay the debt when her husband sent her away from matrimonial home, added the syndicate who allegedly specialized in child stealing and kidnapping in South West, bought the little girl off her for N280,000.

She made the disclosure to reporters at Eleweran, the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters where she was paraded along with two other women, Abibat Oyesanya Morenike Shittu in connection with trading in children.

“I gave out my three year old daughter to Abibat Oyesanya who is into local adoption business. But she promised me that I would be allowed to visit my daughter once in three month.

“I am a prostitute. I engaged in prostitution after my first husband sent me packing. So, I decided to give out my daughter to woman who gave me N280, 000. I used the money to offset my debt.

“The woman also requested for more children based on more demands for those adopting children. That is why I kidnapped the baby girl in Bodija, Ojurin, Ibadan, and brought it to the woman.”

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the Police in the state were committed to flushing out criminals, adding that the suspects were arrested as part of “ember month mop-up operations of the Command.”

Ahmed also paraded a self-styled prophet, Darasimi Rotimi and his accomplice, Ibikunle Sunday who allegedly killed one Sara Olowokere and harvested her body parts for rituals.

The Commissioner said Darasimi and Ibikunle killed Olowokere in Sango area of the state and “dissected her body, remove the head, wrist, heart, breast and the private part.”

According to him, the suspects buried the remains of the victim at Alafia street off Alagbola area of Ijoko – Ota.

Although, Ibikunle, a 40-year old Okada Rider, admitted to killing the victim but the self-acclaimed Prophet Darasimi from Cherubim and Sheraphin, Ijoko, denied his involvement in the act.
