The Kwara state police command have on Thursday, January 19, 2017 paraded two suspected killers of an aged couple who were brutally murdered in Ilorin, Kwara state in December 2016.

Adeyemi Aderinkomi, who was said to be a security guard and Timothy Ajayi, a bricklayer are the two men who were nabbed at the police headquarters in Ilorin.

The couple, Michael Akhigbe, who is a 65-year-old and wife, Juana Akhigbe, 55, were allegedly killed by the gang of armed men in their Tanke residence, Ilorin on December 21, 2016.

Parading the two suspected criminals before journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the state police commissioner, Olusola Amore, said one of the paraded suspects also harassed the 55 year old woman before she was killed."One Bernard John, a family member of late Michael Akhigbe, reported at 'F' Division, Tanke, Ilorin, that he visited the house of the deceased to convey him to work as usual of him, only to discover he and his wife, one Juana Akhigbe, were no where to be found.

"On the strength of the report, police detectives visited the house and on close observation discovered blood stain in the room of the deceased couple, a search in the compound led detectives to a well where the bodies of the deceased were dumped.

"The bodies were recovered and investigation that followed led to the arrest of one Adeyemi Aderinkomi, and Timothy Ajayi who are masterminders of the crime. In the course of interrogation, one of them confessed to have harrassed the woman, before they killed her and her husband, carting away their properties which included one brand new Toyota Camry saloon car, telephone handsets, money and other items.

"The suspects sold some of the stolen items, like plasma TV, cooking gas cylinders, electric pepper grinding machine, electric pressing iron, car battery, and standing fan, among others to suspects already arrested. To cover their track, they sold the Toyota Camry saloon car they took from the house ablaze. They confessed to have dumped the victims in the well to prevent detection. The exhibits were recovered from the receivers while efforts are still on to arrest the other suspects presently on the run. They will be charged to court", the police commissioner explained
