Following the new development that President Buhari will not be returning to Nigeria as expected today January 5 due to some required series of medical tests, former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode said that the country is “in trouble.”
Tweeting moments after the news broke, Fani-Kayode stated that it is now obvious that Buhari is sick and Nigeria is in trouble.
“Buhari has finally acknowledged that he is sick and has extended his stay abroad indefinately. It is now clear that Nigeria is in trouble,” he wrote.
Fani- Kayode also said since Nigeria is now on auto-pilot, Nigerians should pray for the vice president.
He said: "Nigeria is now on auto-pilot. Pray for Osinbajo. Pray for Nigeria. Pray for the south and Middle Belt. An ill wind is about to be unleashed."
Recall that the presidency in a letter written to the National Assembly on Sunday said President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his medical leave in London in order to complete his treatment and await the results of his medical tests.
The extension was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by Femi Adesina, spokesperson to the president.
According to Mr. Adesina, the president was unable to return to the country has planned after he was advised to complete the test cycle before returning.
The statement issued by Mr. Adesina was silent on the exact date of the president's return.
