The clerk of the House of Representatives committee on agricultural production service, Mohammed Shuaibu, has died He slumped at the National Assembly complex and was rushed to the hospital for emergency medical attention, He was confirmed dead on arrival.
Vanguard reports that he was walking on a staircase at about 12pm when he suddenly slumped.
Late Shuaibu who hails from Zaria, Kaduna state, was rushed to the National Assembly clinic for medical attention where he was confirmed dead by the doctors.
His remains have been taken to his hometown for burial.
The clerk who was in his mid-50s was said to have complained of experiencing some discomfort.before his death. The cause of death is yet unknown.
He was the clerk of the House committee on agricultural production and services and was deployed to the committee about a year ago.
According to the chairman of the committee, Rep Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC, Borno), Shuaibu returned to Abuja from Zaria on Sunday ahead of a meeting of the committee.
Sadly, Shuaibu, who was described as a hard working person died few minutes before the meeting.
A source said: “We are all in shock. He returned from Zaria (Kaduna state) yesterday (Sunday).
“He drove himself to work this morning and was looking healthy. His sudden death is a big shock to us.”
