The British police have released the names of two out of the three suspects in the London attacks of Saturday, May 3, 2017.
According to CNN, they are: 27-year-old British citizen, born in Pakistan, Khuram Shazad Butt, and 30-year-old Rachid Redouane.
Reports say Butt was under surveillance by the Police and spy agency, MI5.
Redouane, also known as Rachid Elkhdar, hails from to be Moroccan and Libyan.
The third attacker has also been identified, according to the British police authorities, but his name is yet to be made public.
According to CNN, “The assailants killed seven people and wounded 48 others by ramming a vehicle into a crowd on London Bridge and then stabbing people in nearby Borough Market.”
Reports also say that a woman had earlier called an anti-terrorism help-line to report Butt, who she alleged was trying to radicalise her children
Butt had also featured in a documentary about extremists which aired on Britain’s Channel 4, where he was seen arguing with the police.
Also, there are insinuations that Redouane is a Scottish citizen, based on the Republic of Ireland identity card which was found on him.
Seven victims have been reported dead, and over 30 others are receiving treatment for various injuries, out of which 18 are said to be in critical condition.
