Kaye West and Jay-Z feud over $3m on Tidal music platform

The feud between Kanye West and JAY-Z appears to have intensified, with West pulling all of his music from Tidal, the online streaming service set up in 2014 and which artists such as JAY-Z and Beyonce were stakeholders in. 

It has been claimed that West believe the company owes him money – $3 million – and that the company is now in breach of contract. 

Kanye’s lawyers reportedly sent a letter to the company over a month ago telling them that West never received a promised bonus for bringing in 1.5 million new subscribers with his album Saint Pablo and that he has also not been reimbursed for music videos.

A back and forth took place but with no resolution, West’s lawyers declared the contract over. The pair have been friends for years. but in October 2016, West publicly ranted about JAY-Z on stage, accusing his friend of not being in touch when wife Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. 

However the rapper hit back at Ye on his most recent album 4:44, rapping about how West had lost his principles and was ‘insane’ on the opening track, Kill Jay Z. “You dropped outta school, you lost your principles 

 But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f**k was he thinkin’? / “F**k wrong with everybody?” is what you sayin’/ But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.’ 

Mel B has allegedly squandered her Multi-Million Dollar fortune on a lavish lifestyle

Former Spice Girls star Mel B has wiped out her multi-million fortune after leading an ‘extravagant’ lifestyle, a court was told during a bitter divorce battle. The singer, 42, attended court in Los Angeles on Friday for the first time to face Stephen Belafonte, who she says subjected her to years of physical and mental abuse. 

The pair both have outstanding tax debts after making ‘improvident’ lifestyle choices, Los Angeles Superior Court was told. She was revealed to be making between $194,000 and $198,000 a month. 

Belafonte, who claims his income is zero, is asking for backdated wages of $118,000, $2,728 in perks, $71,581 in spousal support and $200,000 to pay for his ongoing legal costs. 

His lawyer, Grace Jamra, asked Judge Lawrence Riff to order the sale of the couple’s Los Angeles home if necessary. It is currently on the market for $8 million. She said said: ‘Their lifestyle was extravagant and affluent. 

‘She wiped out all her Spice Girls money, approximately [$]50 million if not more.’ In exclusive DailyMail pictures, the former Spice Girl looked confident as she strode into the downtown LA court building. Flanked by her legal reps, the pop star stayed quiet as she entered the building. 

The former couple, who were married for 10 years, are battling over money and custody of their child. 

Baby Charlie is granted extra time on life support, after his parents lost legal battle

The 10-month-old infant, widely known as Baby Charlie, has a rare genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and brain damage.

A London hospital on Friday granted extra time on life support for a British baby with a rare disease and brain damage.

However, it is still expected to end life support in the next few days, after his parents lost a legal battle against the doctors’ decision.

Parents Chris Gard and Connie Yates were prevented by doctors at Great Ormond Street children’s hospital from taking the 10-month-old infant, widely known as Baby Charlie, to a therapy trial in the U.S.

The baby has a rare genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and brain damage.

“Together with Charlie’s parents we are putting plans in place for his care, and to give them more time together as a family.

“We would ask you to give the family and our staff some space and privacy at this distressing time,” a spokesperson for the hospital trust said in a statement.

The parents said earlier that they expected life support to be turned off on Friday.

However, the Daily Mail quoted a family friend as saying that Charlie could now remain on life support over the weekend.

“At last a ‘tiny’ ounce of compassion!” said a tweet from the couple’s “Charlie’s Fight” campaign, with a link to the newspaper report.

Gard and Yates said earlier that they were “utterly heartbroken, spending our last precious hours with our baby boy.”

“We’re not allowed to choose if our son lives, and we’re not allowed to choose when or where Charlie dies,” the baby’s parents said.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected an appeal by the parents on Tuesday, ruling that the case had been meticulously examined by the British courts.

The British courts had concluded that the child was probably suffering continued pain and distress that would be prolonged by “undergoing experimental treatment with no chance of success.”

In the video statement via YouTube, Yates said the couple had “promised our little boy every single day that we would take him home because that is a promise we thought we could keep.”

“We can’t even take our own son home to die,” Gard added.

“We’ve even been denied that.”

Charlie suffers from mitochondrial depletion syndrome.

The BBC had reported that the baby is believed to be one of the only 16 children worldwide with the disease.

Nigeria's foreign and domestic debts reach an alarming $62billion

Nigeria’s foreign and domestic debts stand at about $62 billion and may rise to about $90 billion, chairman Senate Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debt, Shehu Sani, has stated.



Speaking in an exclusive interview with newsmen, Sani said the profile will rise because almost all states have approached the National Assembly through the Presidency for approval of additional foreign loans.

The Kaduna Central Senator lamented previous loans collected by states over the years have not been properly accounted because the projects are not verifiable.

Sani said: “Nigerian’s total debt, both domestic and foreign stands at over $62 billion.

“$40 billion of that is domestic debt while the rest is foreign debt. Actually, foreign debt stands at about $10.2 billion.

“With the approvals before us for different infrastructural projects and from states applying for loans, we may shoot up to as high as between $80- 90 billion.”

Sani said the National Assembly will carefully verify all the requests for foreign loans to stand down the debt profile.

“That is why we have to be very cautious. Our experts will say that we are within the safe threshold of debt.

“But we should also know very well that this could skyrocket to an unbeatable limit,” he explained.

To get approvals, he said the requests must meet certain requirements.

“We will be guided by a number of things. First is expert opinion on these loans applications, then conditions attached to the loans, payment plans and public opinion.

“We should know that debt is a new form of colonialism where the western developed world are colonising us by making sure that we are pinned down to debt.

“Most of these debts are still about us, our children and our grand children irrespective of who is giving it.”
