Singer Banky W announces the dissolution of record label EME

Banky W has announced the dissolution of the record label arm Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), which he co-founded.

He said the label has been dissolved since January 2017 as a result of the structuring of EME.

After nine years of "helping discover/boost the careers" many artistes in the Nigeria's music industry, the singer and actor said it became necessary to shutdown the label.

According to him, EME's business venture will now be marketing, advertising, public relations, branding, shooting of television commercials and documentaries.

Banky W named DJ Xclusive, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Tolu 'Toolz' Oniru, and Adesua Etomi as the first set of clients of the rebranded company.

He made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

He said, "Essentially we have restructured our business and instead of operating just as a record label, we have expanded and changed our focus a bit.

"We are now a full fledged media agency that focuses on creative marketing, advertising, PR, brand events/activations and a talent management firm.

"This switch in focus has been amazing and fulfilling. Behind the scenes, we have been able to impact the launching and marketing of a number of brands and companies the way we did artists but even in the talent management side, we are no longer restricted to working with just music artistes. We still work with musicians, but we also work with OAPs, actors and are evaluating sports management as well.

"The goal was always to find talents and brands we believe in, and partner with them to help them become more successful. Now we have expanded to do that for more than just the music business. We are excited about our client portfolio: the corporate brands we rep, as well as the talents."

 51 days after Fulani herdsmen invaded Guma and Logo council areas of Benue State, killing 73 people mostly women and children in the process, the police have arrested principal suspects in the unpredictable mayhem.

The four principal suspects, were arrested in Tunga town of Nasarawa State between 16 and 19 February 2018 by Intelligence Response Team of the Force. The suspects, according to the police, were nabbed in connection with the Killing of Sgt Solomon Dung and other police officers besides many innocent citizens in Benue State.

This was sequel to the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on the arrest of all persons involved in the killings in Benue State and those in possession of AK47 rifles and other prohibited arms.

The team is being led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations,Habila Joshak. The suspects’ names were given as Alhaji Laggi, 40years, mastermind and gang leader of the herdsmen group; Mallam Mumini Abdullahi, 34 years; Muhammed Adamu, 30 years and Ibrahim Sule, 32 years old.

“The suspects have confessed to the killings and mentioned gang members in possession of the police rifles they took from the slain police officers and others in possession of arms. ” Serious follow up is in progress in Benue,Taraba and Nasarawa states. “DIG Operations Who is heading the Operation have addressed the press on behalf of the IGP today In Makurdi Benue State,” the source said.

Chrisland School Supervisor is allegedly a serial child molester

Doyin Fadero, a former student of embattled Chrisland School supervisor, Adegboyega Adenekan, has alleged that the accused was once linked with a case of rape but there was an attempt to cover it up.

In a recent development, the management of the institution released a press release expressing that the accusation leveled against its staff were a deliberate attack, suspecting that the incident was an attempt to tarnish the image of the institution.

This adds weight to Fadero's Twitter comments posted on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, stating that the school supervisor had been previously accused of indiscipline but went scot free. 

She advised that more attention should be given to cases of sexual assaults as they are most likely based on actual occurrences.

"lol this was my primary school teacher. an issue like this rose up a few years ago and they were trying to vindicate him only for him to ACTUALLY be a rapist. don’t ever cross anyone out for anything. these ‘false accusations’ are not as common as u people make it seem," Adenekan's former student wrote.

A clinical psychologist, Miss. Olive Ogedengbe, provided more evidence concerning the case of a 2-yr-old pupil of Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos, alleged to have been sexually molested by the institution's supervisor, Adegboyega Adenekan.

New information was received via a recording played during Ogedengbe's testimony. She offered one at the  Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, where she expressed observations made after a detailed investigation.

The psychologist who is described as an expert in sexual and reproductive health behaviour in children and adolescents, noted that the victim referred to as "Child X", was given a piece of paper where she made drawings of the private part of the accused.

Cows stray on to Akure Aiport Runway and prevents plane from landing

A herd of cattle strayed onto the runway of Akure Airport , preventing an Air Peace flight from Lagos from landing.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has apologised to Air Peace Airlines and its passengers for the unfortunate incident.

FAAN issued the apology in a statement signed by its General Manager, Corporate Affairs , Mrs Henrietta Yakubu in Lagos .

Yakubu said the Air Peace flight, which left Lagos for Akure could not land immediately as some cows strayed onto the runway of the airport.

She said, "However, normalcy was restored quickly, as officers of the aviation security department quickly dispersed the cows from the runway and the aircraft was cleared for landing.

“The authority will like to assure travellers and the general public that efforts are already ongoing to close the gap that aided this incident."

Nkemdilim Anulika Ofodile is the Nigeria AirForce aerospace engineer who designed “Tsaigumi”, Nigeria’s first indigenous operational UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle.)

The beautiful woman has a PhD in Control Engineering from the University of Leicester.

As part of the Federal Government efforts to tackle insecurity in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled a surveillance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) produced locally by the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology.

The UAV codenamed TSAIGUMI is the first Unmanned Aerial Vehicle to be produced in the country and will be used to fight terrorism, armed banditry and other sophisticated crimes through enhanced air surveillance.
It could also be used for policing operations, disaster management, convoy protection, maritime patrol, pipeline and power line monitoring as well as mapping and border patrol duties.

In addition, it could be deployed for the protection of wildlife, weather forecast and telecast. Additionally, in the maritime domain, the Tsaigumi UAV could be used for search and rescue, coastal monitoring and patrol of Nigeria’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

The UAV, which is capable of day and night operations, has an operational endurance in excess of 10 hours, a service ceiling of 15,000 feet and a mission radius of 100km.
