NORTHERN LAWYERS TELL BUHARI TO GET RID OF EMEFIELE WITHIN 14 DAYS

The group has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fire Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) within 14 days for derailing the economic direction of the country.

It may not be a laughing matter for the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, after 14 days as Arewa lawyers are calling for his sack
The organisation accused Emefiele of adopting a lackadaisical style to management.
Daily Trust reports that in a statement made to journalists, president of the AYLF, Barrister Abubakar Sadiq Ilelah, said things have continued to fall apart in the country since the appointment of Emefiele as the governor of the CBN.
Emefiele's CBN has maintained a 13 percent interest rate in an economy that analysts say has practically fallen apart.
Ilelah said: “Mr Emefiele is rated low in the performance index compared to his predecessors.
"He has drastically failed in promoting monetary policies to stem the continuous free fall of the Naira, halt the rising debt profile of Nigeria and poor management of the country’s foreign exchange.”
