When I win 50 Grammys, then I can call myself a fulfilled musician says Praiz

 Pop singer Praiz Adejo talks about his music career, the journey so far and his sophomore album.

Speaking with Pulse some weeks back, Praiz talked about going through the challenges and starting out afresh like every other up and coming artist even after emerging second runner up at the maiden edition of music reality TV show Project Fame West Africa.

Praiz credits Illbliss for being instrumental to his being signed on to label X3M Music. He talked about how he felt being nominated at the Headies for his first single ‘Afrurumginanya’ (I love you), up until releasing his first album “Rich and Famous”.

He talks about working with Sarkodie and how he gets to choose who he chooses who to collaborate with on a record.

On Nigerians collaborating with foreign counterparts, Praiz says it’s the way to go and it really never goes wrong.

“It’s a good look and an increase for the fan base of the artist, It never goes wrong, shout out to Wizkid who is really killing it right now, it’s the way to go and just get that global platform and fanbase, ” the crooner says.

On his forthcoming album, Praiz says he is not in a rush to name or release the album, but describes the project as it going to be a fusion of R&B and other genres of music.

“My next album is a more of a fusion, you have songs with groove but you can hear the R&B vibes.”

On how he takes care of his voice, he acknowledges the training he got from Project fame, but says he just keeps singing, listens to a track and tries to emulate the range of a music he hears.

Praiz believes it’s an added advantage to have music education, and sees the internet as a fertile ground for learning more of the craft.

On whether he feels fulfilled as a musician, Praiz says:

“I haven’t gotten to the stage where I’d say Praiz is a fulfilled musician but one thing I can say for sure is Praiz has achieved a lot in his career and I’m grateful to God, grateful to my fans, family and the media who have supported me and pushed my materials.

It only gets better and I think by the time I win 50 Grammys then I would call myself a fulfilled musician.”
