A nice grandma donated her diamond ring to a waiter she’d just met – so he could propose to his girlfriend.Sharon Heinemann, from Concord, New Hampshire, was on her way to a Pink concert in Boston with her three sisters when they stopped in for a meal at Legal Sea Foods.
There they were served by Mattheus, and the trio soon got chatting with their “handsome” waiter.
One of the sisters, Ginny Krowe, asked him if he had a girlfriend, reports New Hampshire local news station WMUR.
He revealed he was dating one of his colleagues, Maria, who was also working at the restaurant that night.
Mattheus then confided that he wanted to pop the question but couldn’t afford a ring – and that’s where Sharon stepped in.
“I just did it, you know,” she said.
“He loved her, and he didn’t have a ring.”
Sister Rita Blanchette added: “We all were so touched by it. Sharon didn’t hesitate at all. She just took the ring right off her finger.”
Then, in front of his newfound friends, Mattheus got down on one knee.
Ginny recalled: “He says, ‘Maria, I love you. Will you marry me?’ She was crying. She says, ‘Yes, yes, Mattheus.’”
