Mary J Blige got her Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The singer and actress were supported by her longtime friend, Diddy and record producer, Andre Harrel who both gave beautiful speeches about her.
In her speech, the singer said “Am so grateful for this star right now because I’ve earned it probably three times, and I say that with confidence and not arrogance. I know my work and I understand what this means.” She also said that the movie ‘Mudbound’ where she had both acted and produced one of the soundtracks had helped put her life in motion once again. She recently nominated for the Best Original Song at the 2018 Golden Globes for the song ‘Mighty River’and Best Supporting Actress role in the movie ‘Mudbound’.
Diddy while congratulating Ms. Blige called the 47-year-old a queen, saying “she’s royal, she’s majestic,” and outrightly saying that she is ‘black excellence’. Also, Andre said that since Mary was introduced as the queen of hip-hop and soul music on Soul Train, she has held that title.
