McGregor to surpass Ronaldo in the Forbes Ranking after earning £77m In his fight against Mayweather

UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, will rise above Cristiano Ronaldo in the latest Forbes rich list for athletes, after earning over £77m in his knockout defeat against Floyd Mayweather.

The list is calculated by adding together salaries, bonuses and endorsements, which include sponsorships and appearance fees.

McGregor was stopped in the 10th round in Las Vegas, but was guaranteed to benefit from the record-breaking hype that generated up to £500m.

Ronaldo topped the list this year with earning of £71m, but the Real Madrid star will drop down after McGregor career-high pay day.

“You [Ronaldo] were number one on the Forbes list, I was like number 35 or something,” McGregor said in a meeting last year.

“I’ll get up. Maybe next year I’ll get you.”

Ronaldo had replied: “I don’t think so”.

Despite overtaking Ronaldo, McGregor will not become number one, with Mayweather’s £233m riches putting him back atop of sport’s money-makers.

J.J. Watt has kept donors up to date with the campaign with videos shared to Twitter and Instagram.

Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt started with an initial goal of raising $200,000 for relief efforts now the campaign has cleared $5 million
When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and began devastating the community, all-star Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was frustrated he wasn't around to help.
So he decided he would do what he could, setting up an online fundraiser for Houston with an initial goal of $200,000, and pledging $100,000 of his own money to get the donations started. The campaign went live on Sunday, as Watt shared a link and a video explaining the fundraiser to his social media channels.
Within hours the initial goal was met, so Watt decided to push the effort further, and set a new goal for $500,000. When that was met in less than 24 hours, he again raised the goal to $1 million and challenged his followers to see how far they could take the campaign.
The fundraiser continued to pick up steam, and quickly surpassed subsequent goals of $2 million and $3 million. Watt even got help from around the NFL, most notably when Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk donated $1 million of her own money to the cause.
"A million dollar donation," Watt said in another video posted in response to the gift. "That's from a team in our division, one of our rivals, but stepping up for the greater good of the people. I cannot thank you enough."
As of the time of this writing, with the help of his 2.7 million followers on Instagram and nearly 4 million followers on Twitter, Watt has raised over $5.4 million dollars from over 54,000 donors in just four days, and set a new goal for $6 million.

We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity & nefarious behavior. The spreading of false information (through "sources" afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.

What I can confirm, is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you've invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!

We've seen this movie before. Women being dragged in the press & blamed for everything under the sun. This behavior is unacceptable. I urge those involved to be mindful of their actions for the eyes of our Almighty God are always watching. The seeds of slander is a cancer that harvests to eat away the souls of the planter.

The throne is sacred and the attempts to tarnish the name of a Queen, in defense or on behalf of a silent King makes all involved look terrible. Remain dignified in all you do. It's not the end of the world, but the start of a new chapter and you must turn the page with grace. The world is watching.

As I bid adieu to this chapter, my wish to you all is to step into your lives - boldly & fearlessly, the way God intended and live not just by words, but through example. The best chapter in our lives is the one we are writing now. Thank you for your love and support.
With peace, love &  light, -Her Highness, Zaynab Otiti Obanor.

Kim Khardashian blasts critics, says no matter what they say about her they can never call her lazy

Posing for a vividly retro shoot with Interview magazine, the 36-year-old influencer and reality Queen challenged anyone to doubt her work ethic and call her “lazy” in a candid chat, though she readily admits she’s not got any traditional talents.

Speaking to Janet Mock, Kim addresses one of the charges often fired at her family – a lack of talent. Speaking frankly she admits her short-comings, but also says no one can doubt her work effort as she taked a defiant swipe at her critics.

“You can say a lot of things about me, but you cannot say I don’t work hard. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t act. But I am not lazy,” Kim states.

“I used to say, ‘I love being underestimated’. But now when I hear, ‘They’re so not talented,’ – ten years into it – I’m kind of like, ‘Okay, give a girl a little respect.’

If I’m so not talented, if I do nothing, then how is my career my reality? And I poke fun at it, like when I was on the cover of Forbes I posted the hashtag #NotBadForAGirlWithNoTalent.

I don’t mind being underestimated because it does fuel me.” She snarkily adds: “But after a while, I do feel like, ‘C’mon, you can recognize a little bit.'”

EFCC tells protesters they have plans on extraditing Diezani from the UK

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said the Commission will extradite a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the United Kingdom, though the process may be long.

The Secretary to the EFCC, Emmanuel Aremo, said this while addressing protesters at the headquarters of the commission in Abuja on Monday.

The protesters, led by popular artiste, Charles Oputa, a.k.a. Charly Boy, gathered to demand the immediate repatriation of Diezani to Nigeria to face trial for allegedly stealing billions of naira.
Aremo said, “We have an MOU with the British Government, we have bilateral agreements on how to repatriate citizens and that is being followed. The Ministry of Justice is taking steps and we are also taking steps but one thing I will let you know is that we are not relenting in our efforts.”
The leader of the protesters, Charly Boy, who is also the convener of ‘Our Mumu Don Do’, said the protest had become imperative because the Federal Government was only seizing properties and funds from Diezani without pursuing her trial.

The musician added, “I am here to give support and ginger the youths who have finally decided to wake up from their docility and their slumber. We are here to force a discussion on this war on corruption. Is it only being fought on the pages of newspapers and why haven’t we had a conviction so far and why haven’t the guilty been punished so far?

“So, I am here to join the exceptional Nigerian youths to ask questions and hold the government accountable to the promises that have been made.

“If they cannot get a conviction for Diezani there (in London), let them bring her back home. Our eyes are on the Diezani matter and I am hoping that it won’t be business as usual.”
Another protester, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, said the EFCC should stop waiting for directives from the Presidency before doing the needful.

He said, “We came to tell the EFCC that we are demanding Diezani’s extradition who is alleged to have stolen billions of dollars from the Nigerian coffers and we are saying if they do not extradite her and allow her trial to continue in the UK, it will be a slap on the wrist for her because what she is being accused of doing in the UK is a very minor offence.”

I am terrified that North does not like her brother Saint says Kim Khardashian

Kim Kardashian has revealed that her daughter North, 4, is not a huge fan of her little brother Saint, 1, and it’s apparently not a problem that’s not going away.

“I don’t know if it’s because she’s the older sister. I don’t know what it is,” Kardashian said while co-hosting “Live with Kelly and Ryan” alongside Ryan Seacrest on Monday. “I thought it was a phase. She does not like her brother and it’s so hard for me.”

Kardashian explained that jealousy is an issue for North when it comes to her younger brother, and she sometimes tries to box him out by inviting her famous mother to girls-only tea parties.

That means her father, rapper Kanye West, is excluded too. “She would get so jealous when I would breastfeed and all that kind of stuff,” Kardashian said of North. “And now, the phase isn’t going away.”

Say What! Ghanian assylum seeker who raped a German woman confesses he also killed his brother-inlaw

A Ghanaian asylum seeker has confessed to killing his brother-in-law before migrating to Germany where he is accused of raping a woman at knife point in front of her boyfriend.

32-year-old Erik X, has been charged with aggravated rape and predatory blackmail. The sheer brutality of the rape, which happened in April near the city of Bonn, shocked Germany because of its harrowing details.

Erik X., who is in prison in the Ossendorf district of Cologne awaiting trial, has now confessed to another crime to a psychiatrist. He has claimed he killed his brother-in-law in a dispute about the inheritance of a family member.

This led to him choosing to migrate to Europe in 2014. However the psychiatrist found no mental illnesses which means he can be held fully accountable for the rape, if found guilty. The trial is set to start on September 25.

Nigerian man invents a computer that can sense and smell explosives and cancerous cells

Silicon Valley-based Oshi Agabi has unveiled a computer based not on silicon but on mice neurons at the TEDGlobal conference in Tanzania. The system has been trained to recognise the smell of explosives and could be used to replace traditional airport security, he said.

Eventually the modem-sized device – dubbed Koniku Kore – could provide the brain for future robots. Agabi is attempting
to reverse-engineer biology, which already accomplishes this function with a fraction of the power it would take a silicon-based processor.

He launched his start-up Koniku over a year ago, has raised $1m (£800,000) in funding and claims it is already making profits of $10m in deals with the security industry. Koniku Kore is an amalgam of living neurons and silicon, with olfactory capabilities — basically sensors that can detect and recognise smells.

“You can give the neurons instructions about what to do – in our case we tell it to provide a receptor that can detect explosives.” He envisages a future where such devices can be discreetly used at various points in airports, eliminating the need for queues to get through airport security.

As well as being used for bomb detection, the device could be used to detect illness by sensing markers of a disease in the air molecules that a patient gives off.

A self-described “scrawny, nerdy kid,” Agabi grew up in the suburb of Surulere in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained a Bachelors degree in Physics from University of Lagos.

Anyone who tries to arrest will surely die, says IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), says anyone who tries to arrest him will die.

He said this in reaction to the call of the federal government that his bail should be revoked.

After spending 18 months in detention, following his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS), Binta Nyako, justice of a federal high court in Abuja, granted him bail on April 25.

But the activist has flouted all the bail conditions, prompting the calls for his arrest.

But speaking on Sunday at Boys Technical College (BTC) in Aba, Abia state, Kanu paid tribute to those reportedly killed at National High School, by security agencies.

He said the quest for Biafra was unstoppable, adding that the call is a “message from heaven.”

He also insisted that the Anambra gubernatorial election will be boycotted except a referendum which the group has been clamouring, is conducted.

“Where we are, is Biafra Land. Aba is the spiritual capital of Biafra land. We started in Aba in 2015 at CKC (Christ the King Catholic Cathedral),” Kanu said.

“That day, heaven authenticated our move that IPOB will restore Biafra and that’s what we’ve come to do. We died in Aba; at National High School.

“They shot and killed us in other places in Biafra land when they were protesting for my release. As our people rest in the grave, we’ll never rest until Biafra is restored. I don’t care what they say in Abuja. I don’t give a damn what they say in Lagos.

“I’m a Biafran and we are going to crumble the zoo. Some idiots who are not educated said that they’ll arrest me, and I ask them to come. I’m in Biafra land. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive know that this is not IPOB. Tell them that’s what I said.

“Tell Buhari that I’m in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in Biafra land will die here. I’ll never go on exile I assure you.

“Some people talk about restructuring, are we doing restructuring of Nigeria now? Are we doing fiscal federalism? Are we doing devolution? What we want is Biafra!

“Forget all the nonsense they write about us. We are not slowing down and no man born of a woman can stop us.

“They thought we are joking and God gave us a simple message that no one can stop us. The movement to restore Biafra is unstoppable.

“The message of heaven is what I bring to you. Don’t be afraid. The plans of our enemies are not going to be actualized. The enemies are planning, but we are formidable.

“We are going to boycott Anambra state election. After Anambra 2017, in 2019, there’ll be no elections in Biafra land. Signed and sealed. My message is that there’ll not be election in Biafra land ever again until they give us date for referendum

I am ready to die to stop APC from winning Rivers says Governor Wike

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike,  gave an indication that the 2019 election in Rivers State could be as violent as previous elections.

Speaking on his preparedness to defend his party’s votes with his life, Mr. Wike was quoted by his spokesperson as saying “I am ready to place myself on line, nobody will take Rivers State.”

Wike’s statements were contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Simon Nwakaudu, who said the governor spoke at a thanksgiving service at the St Thomas Anglican Church in Diobu on Sunday.

The governor also spoke about a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal that annulled the election of a PDP senator and replaced him with that of the APC.

“2019, they will not succeed. As far as we are concerned, we have no senator in Rivers East. The man going there has no capacity to represent us,” he said. The governor added that nobody should be afraid of the Police and the Army in the defence of their mandate in 2019.

“Nobody should be afraid of the Police or Army, because liberty comes with a price. They have nothing to campaign with outside the use of security. I am ready to place myself on line, nobody will take Rivers State “, he said. Crdt: PremiumTimes

Abubakar Shekau is hiding in Mandara Mountain reveals Ex-Commander of Boko Haram

Boko Haram's shadowy leader, Abubakar Shekau
An ex Boko Haram commander, Abdulkadir Abubakar  has revealed that the sect's leader, Abubakar Shekau has left Sambisa forest, and is now hiding in  Mandara Mountain.
The former chief intelligence officer was arrested by troops in June along Buni Yadi in Gujba local government area of Yobe State, NAN reports.
Abubakar also promised to help the military capture Shekau
and also broker peace between the sect's two factions and the Federal Government.
He said “I am cooperating with the military and I am ready to provide information on the whereabouts of Shekau. Shekau has left his enclave in Sambisa and moved deep into Mandara Mountain. I know the area where he is hiding and willing to provide a guide to the military.
“The intensified military offensive has weakened Shekau’s position and that of the other groups."
The former commander also accused Shekau of frustrating all the efforts to negotiate with the government.
He said “Shekau is not willing to surrender due to his high handedness. Unfortunately, the government and military authorities accorded priority on dealing with Shekau, who is blood thirsty.
“Albarnawi has indicated interest to dialogue with the government to end insurgency and provide a lasting solution to the crisis. Albarnawi discusses this with members of his circle. And I can assure the government that he would cooperate to achieve peace.
“The two factions are willing to cooperate with Nigerian Government to defeat Shekau."
“During the early days of the insurgency we fought for what we thought was a just cause, to establish a caliphate where human beings are valued, cherished and respected.
“After annexing vast territories, Shekau began to demonstrate his cruelty and atrocities against humanity.
“In view of the high level atrocities committed by the group, some of the top commanders including myself, Albarnawi and Mamman Nur challenged Shekau, demanding an immediate end to the ugly saga.
“Thereafter, Albarnawi and Mamman Nur parted ways, and formed their groups. Shekau is responsible for suicide bombings and attack on soft targets in the North-East.
“The Albarnawi and Mamman Nur groups never attacked schools, religious places of worship, markets, women and children. Our fight was strictly with security forces. Even the kidnapped oil workers would not be killed by the group.
“Shekau is fond of using the girls and other abducted women as sex toys, and suicide bombers. He kills on the pretence of punishing for lies, theft, and rebellion. Shekau kills without justification.
“Shekau arrogated to himself the powers to accuse, prosecute, convict and punish in total contradiction to Islamic teachings.Children and women also starved to death in Sambisa due to  Shekau’s cruelty," he added.

A German nurse has been accused of killing 84 of his patients

Niels Hoegel covering his face

He was meant to keep patients alive but it seems  Niels Hoegel, 40, was doing the opposite of that.
In 2015, Hoegel was sent to jail for two murders and the attempted murders of several intensive care patients at Delmenhorst hospital in Bremen, Germany.
After exhuming and examining more bodies, police said on Monday, August 28, 2017, that more evidence of murders has been discovered.
"The death toll is unique in the history of the German republic," said   Arne Schmidt, the chief police investigator. "[There was] evidence for at least 90 murders, and at least as many [suspected] cases again that can no longer be proven," he said at a press conference.
Niels Hoegel has admitted to causing heart failure in his patients by injecting them. His plan was to revive them and be a hero among his pairs. Whenever he succeeded he felt happy and when he failed he became sad.
His confession led the police to launch Kardio- a special forensic investigation to determine the cause of death of the patients. 130 bodies were exhumed and tested for the deadly drug.
In 2015, Hogel was sentenced to life for his earlier crime.

Fonder of Black Llives Matter, likens Trump to Hitler. Refers to him as the epitome of evil

Patrisse Cullors

Patrisse Cullors, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter, likened President Donald Trump to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler during an interview with the Los Angeles Times published on Friday.
Cullors said that the anti-racism activist group would not meet with the president, if invited, because he is "the epitome of evil."
"We wouldn't as a movement take a seat at the table with Trump, because we wouldn't have done that with Hitler," Cullors said.
She added, "Trump is literally the epitome of evil, all the evils of this country — be it racism, capitalism, sexism, homophobia."
Cullors said the group is focused on resisting government policies that harm black communities and on drawing attention to racism and police brutality and does not see a place for negotiation with the Trump administration.
"For us, the answer is not to sit with him but to resist him and to resist every single policy that he's implemented that impacts our communities," she said, adding that the president is "killing our communities."
Cullors said this month's violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the broader relevance of white nationalist movements in the US, is in part a reaction to the activism of groups like Black Lives Matter, which was founded in response to the 2012 killing of Trayvon Martin, a black teenager who was shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman, in Florida.
"I think part of what we're seeing in the rise of white nationalism is their response to Black Lives Matter, is their response to an ever-increasing fight for equal rights, for civil rights and for human rights," Cullors said.
She explained that one of the group's central goals is to reduce funding for law enforcement across the country, and have tax-payer money instead invested in education, housing, and other essential services in poor communities.
Cullors affirmed Black Lives Matter's commitment to non-violent action, but argued that the police should do more to defend protesters of color, referencing the experience of many anti-racist counterprotesters at the rally in Virginia, who felt they were not adequately protected by law enforcement in the face of the heavily armed Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazi marchers.
"Many folks that were on the ground said the police were not helpful at all," Cullors said. "And yet when Black Lives Matter hits the streets, when we are nonviolent, we're the first ones to be snatched up by police. We're the first ones to be beaten by police."
